Combating Food Waste, Empowering Communities
It all started from a shared vision to address food insecurity and promote sustainability in our community, two brothers passionate about social change and environmental responsibility. With Tom having a passion for food and extensive experience in the food industry, over the years he constantly witnessed the alarming amount of food waste in restaurants and supermarkets. Meanwhile, Jacob, an active community worker, and manager of food bank, deals firsthand with the struggles low-income families and individuals face with food insecurity on a daily basis.
Our Story
Our Concept
The concept of Turnip Point has started to take shape. We envision a social enterprise that will collect surplus food from local supermarkets, restaurants, and food producers, and transform it into affordable, innovative meals distributed through various channels, including food trucks and community events. We also aim to provide free meals to the most vulnerable populations.
