Combating Food Waste, Empowering Communities
It all began with a shared vision to tackle food insecurity and promote sustainability in the community. Tom, with his passion for food and extensive experience in the food industry, witnessed firsthand the alarming levels of food waste in restaurants and supermarkets. His desire to address these issues sparked the creation of Turnip Point CIC, where the focus is on transforming surplus food into opportunities to nourish and empower the community.
Our Story
Our Concept
The concept of Turnip Point has started to take shape. We envision a social enterprise that will collect surplus food from local supermarkets, restaurants, and food producers, and transform it into affordable, innovative meals distributed through various channels, including food trucks and community events. We also aim to provide free meals to the most vulnerable populations.
